SoBold worked with Mayfair Equity Partners to redesign and rebuild their website on WordPress, bringing their digital presence in line with their refreshed positioning and recently closed fund. The project spanned research, competitor analysis, UX, UI design across five responsive breakpoints, and a full WordPress development build.
Launch websiteThe challenge
Mayfair Equity Partners’ existing website no longer reflected the firm’s positioning or ambitions. New presentations, investor materials, and messaging had been developed with a refreshed visual identity, but the website remained rooted in an older brand. This created a disconnect between how Mayfair presented itself in person and how it appeared online, with the site failing to clearly communicate their investment strategy to founders, advisors, and investors.

What we did
SoBold ran a thorough research and planning phase before any design work began, building a detailed picture of Mayfair’s audiences, competitor landscape, and brand direction.
This informed the UX, visual exploration, and UI design phases, with wireframe development deliberately paused until Mayfair had finalised their new value proposition with an external communications agency.
The site was then built on WordPress with a focus on security, performance, and content flexibility.

Success snapshot
A modernised brand, brought online
Both teams agreed a completely new typeface was needed, moving away from the existing headline font which felt too informal for the firm’s aspirations. Typography became the single most important design decision on the project.
Moodboards tested imagery styles, colour palettes, and layout approaches. The primary brand colour remained central alongside touches of orange and light teal, all set against generous whitespace and minimalist iconography.
Mayfair was simultaneously refining their value proposition with an external writer and developing a bespoke animated brand element with a separate agency, both of which directly impacted the website project.
When these parallel workstreams required more time, SoBold and Mayfair agreed to return to the moodboard phase with the updated assets.
From this reset, the team confirmed the new typography direction and moved straight into full UI design without needing to redo wireframes.
The previous portfolio pages were too dense, making it difficult for visitors to quickly understand Mayfair's investment focus.
SoBold restructured the portfolio with modern filtering by fund, investment status, and ecosystem, replacing the dense layout with lighter, more scannable cards.
This is in stark contrast to their previous CMS, which prevented them from making the necessary changes, meaning content was often out-of-date and their visitors were not being retained well enough.
SoBold built the site on WordPress, giving Mayfair's team the flexibility to manage content independently.
Security measures included WordFence, two-factor authentication, and role-based CMS permissions, with hosting through an ISO 27001 and PCI-DSS compliant UK data centre.
SEO foundations were built in from the start, including structured URL hierarchies, breadcrumbs, redirect mapping, and structured data.
SoBold also handled the full content migration and set up Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager.

Beyond the launch
Following launch, SoBold provides ongoing website management to keep the site secure, updated, and evolving. This includes plugin updates, PHP and WordPress core updates, bug fixing, and quality assurance testing, with additional design and development work available as Mayfair’s needs develop.
