Bringing Bioscript Group's vision to life on WordPress

SoBold worked with Bioscript Group to develop their new website on WordPress, taking detailed design concepts from external agency Ensemble and building them into a fully functional, accessible platform. The project covered front-end development, CMS architecture, site animations, and WCAG 2.2 AA compliance across a structured eight-week development period.

The challenge

Bioscript Group offers specialist consulting across five distinct life sciences disciplines, from medical communications to regulatory writing.

Their new website needed to present each capability clearly while communicating the firm’s position as a strategic partner that brings clarity to complex scientific communication.

The design had been developed by an external agency, and SoBold’s brief was to transform those detailed visual concepts into a high-performing, maintainable platform under significant time pressure.

The results

39% increase in sessions

72% increase in page views

27% reduction in bounce rate

35% increase in average session duration

What we did

The design was developed by external agency Ensemble on Illustrator, with SoBold responsible for translating the visual concepts into a fully functional development platform.

The original designs included a significant number of visual and structural blocks, which SoBold’s development team consolidated into a streamlined build that maintained the design intent while improving performance, accessibility, and long-term maintainability.

A team of three developers delivered the build across an eight-week period, managing a structured UAT process and an agile workflow adapted to accommodate continuous feedback from multiple stakeholders at Bioscript.

From design concepts to a live platform

Ensemble’s designs were visually detailed, with a high number of distinct page blocks and structural elements.

SoBold’s team reviewed every component in Figma and identified where consolidation was needed to ensure the site performed well without losing the design’s visual intent.

Specific elements required close collaboration between teams, including the interactive Venn diagram states and footer logo treatments, both of which needed technical refinement to work reliably across devices and screen sizes.

Streamlining a block-heavy design

The original design contained more block types than a typical build, which would have created a complex and fragile editing experience for Bioscript's team.

SoBold's developers consolidated these into a streamlined CMS structure, reducing the number of distinct blocks while preserving the visual variety across pages.

The result is a site the Bioscript team can update and maintain without needing developer support for routine content changes.

Five capabilities, one clear structure

Bioscript's five service areas (Market Access Consulting, Medical Communications, Regulatory Writing, Data Insights, and Strategic Planning) each needed their own space on the site without fragmenting the overall user journey.

SoBold structured the service pages to present each capability individually while connecting them through consistent navigation and cross-linking, reflecting how Bioscript's teams work across disciplines for their clients.

Built for accessibility and engagement

WCAG 2.2 AA compliance was a requirement from the outset, and SoBold ensured every page met the standard through structured testing during the build rather than retrospective remediation.

Alongside the accessibility work, the team introduced a range of site animations that add visual engagement without compromising load times or usability.

Navigating a multi-stakeholder build

With multiple reviewers at Bioscript involved in the feedback process, changes came in continuously throughout the development phase.

A structured UAT spreadsheet tracked every change request through to resolution, keeping the project moving despite the volume of feedback.
